I have often been amazed at God’s timing. His timing is perfect. However, sometimes I think He steps up at the 11th hour, causing my faith to grow as I wait and trust Him.

A young lady recently shared with me how God’s timing meant so much to her. She went on a short-term mission trip to Africa alone and there were understandably some fears of travelling alone into unfamiliar territory. She first transited through South Africa on a large plane on her way to a smaller African country. There she secured a seat on a smaller plane and was uncertain how she would cope away from her comfort zone and among a culture so different to her own, in many ways.

The plane filled with native Africans, whose language she could not speak making her feel anxious and alone. To her surprise, an older lady took the seat beside her, the only other foreigner on the plane, who was not only an older woman, but also a Kiwi and a missionary on her way to another mission outreach in Africa.

My friend was amazed at God’s timing, planning and ability to deal with her fears. The older lady was a seasoned missionary and able to give some helpful guidance to my young friend. They have maintained a contact with each other to this day.

God’s timing is perfect. May I encourage you to trust Him and look out for His promise and presence in every situation.

Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
