Welcome back to all of you who have been away. I trust you have enjoyed the long hot summer break and you feel refreshed and ready for a great 2018.
At the beginning of the New Year it is a good thing for us to look forward to doing things better than last year. This is the opportunity to put behind us ways in which we may have underachieved or even failed to achieve in 2017. Philippians 3:13 “forgetting the past and straining to what is ahead, I press on…”
I challenge you to make 2018 better than the years that have past. Put God and others first. Be willing to serve, help, give and work to honour God and bring much joy to others. Jesus was right when He said that it more blessed to give than to receive.
Set yourself goals to grow and extend yourself in God’s ways this year. If you do not already do so, covenant to read God’s word and pray each day, join a Bible study home group, worship God enthusiastically and be the best you can be for God and others this year. If life is worth living then it is worth living well.
Let’s make 2018 count for God and others. Jesus said “I have come that you may have life and life to the full” Let us by faith and commitment enter that fullness of life.
