From Ben – 17 April 2016
While reading the newspaper online the other day I happened to notice that our country, for the 4th consecutive year, has been judged the number 1 country in the world to visit on holiday. The article said that it has surveyed 75000 travellers and N.Z. came out on top.
As I read the article I paused to thank God for this beautiful country, its rolling green fields, its snow-capped alps, its fast flowing rivers. Perhaps our rivers are not as clean as they could be, but coming from Africa I remember many of the rivers are nothing but dry beds most of the year and only come to life for a month or so in the rainy season. We have more usable water per head in NZ than any other country on earth.
Let us remember that the purpose of the creation in all its beauty is to bring glory to God. As a painting portrays the wisdom of the artist, so too creation declares the wisdom, skill and workmanship of our God.
I encourage you to stand still in a beautiful spot sometime in the next day or so, and whisper a prayer of thanks to God for his creation, and to be aware of his glory in everything around us.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
