From Ben – 27 November 2016
With just 4 more weeks to Christmas I am sure by now you will have started your preparations. You may not be one of those annoyingly organized people who have already bought gifts and planned the menus. You may be like me, uncertain and unprepared as to what to buy. Someone at Bible study said to me, “What just happened to October?” It just flew past and we are staring at December.
May I encourage you, as you make your plans, to factor in worshipping God at Christmas, either attending a Christmas eve service, or a Christmas day service. This is a wonderful time to show your family and friends where your priorities lay. It is also the easiest time of the year to bring somebody else to church. I am aware that many of you will be away over the Christmas period. Well then, why not do some research where the closest church services will be and plan on being there with your family. Don’t let this world determine wrong priorities for you, thinking that family, food and gifts are the main reasons for the season. Rather it is worship and wonder, that God should so love us that he chose to send his one and only Son to take on human flesh and become man at Christmas.
Let’s keep the Christ in Christmas.
