From Ben – 1 March 2015

I attended a 2 day workshop and conference this past week, which was very productive and stimulating.

On one of the mornings, a minister lead the devotions on the subject, “Do not be ashamed.” It was very challenging and a timely reminder to me, not in any way to feel intimidated, apologetic or ashamed of the Christian faith or the message of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I was amazed to hear how often the Bible refers to this topic, of not in any way being ashamed. It is true to say that we live in a day and age where the name of our Lord is unpopular and unappreciated. But on the other hand, in the light of the focus on Islam, and its excesses, there has perhaps never been a better time to speak up of our Lord and his teaching of grace, love, pardon and kindness.

If you look out for opportunities to speak up for your Lord, you will be amazed at how often opportunities naturally present themselves in daily conversation.

Let’s resolve to use them to the full.

Romans 1:16   For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
