From Ben – 30 October 2016

We have all been shocked and saddened by the tragic accident on the Gold Coast where 3 men and a woman lost their lives at the Dream Park adventure park. It has come as a greater blow to us knowing that those people were just there having fun with their families when this tragedy occurred. For our family, it is particularly sobering as we were at an adjoining Theme Park on the Gold Coast last week playing on similar rides.

It is unforeseen accidents like this that quickly remind us of the frailty and shortness of life. As we pray for God’s comfort, love and strength for those families so suddenly bereaved this past week, we must also trust God each day for our own safety. It is tragedies like this one which make me so aware of our need to look to God each day for his provision and protection. It is also a good reminder to live each day, being certain we are in a right relationship with God our Father, through a steady faith in Jesus and to be right with others, not leaving grievances or differences unresolved.

In James 4:14 “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

So true – let us live our lives aware that although life is uncertain and fragile, that God is in control
