This week we hold our AGM for 2018. This is an opportunity for us as a church family to stop and reflect on God’s grace and goodness over this past year. I do hope you will be able to spare the time to remain after this morning’s service to participate in our AGM.
As I reflected on the reports for this past year, it is obvious once again that GPC, by God’s grace, is in a good place with a wide variety of ministries catering for the various needs of our church. Thank God for a healthy, happy united church.
One of my concerns this past year has been the high attrition rate as so many people and families who love our church community move out because of relocation transfers and the high price of Auckland houses. Fortunately as people have left us, others have come in to fill their places so our church remains comfortably full despite the attrition.
The N.T. book of Ephesians calls for unity, harmony and a servant spirit in the church of Jesus Christ. I would like to think that to a large extent GPC portrays and practices those important values as a church. As the pastor of this church I feel honoured to play my part in co-leading with the session team and pray that God would continue to lead us on to being the church He wants us to be.
