From Ben – 9 April 2017
As we draw closer to Easter and remember all that our Lord did for us in his life, death, resurrection, and ascension, I have been reflecting on our Lord’s tender care for his own. Those last days must have been ever so hard for our Lord, as all that lay ahead of him started to become reality. Yet in spite of all that, we see him selflessly showing his disciples love, tenderness and care. He takes them to the Upper Room to give them a chance to be together around a meal for the last time. He bends down and washes their feet, taking the role of a common servant. He speaks words of comfort and reassurance to them. Then he takes them out to the Garden to pray with him. When Judas arrives with a band of soldiers Jesus does not abandon his disciples, but puts himself forward and thus protects his disciples.
All along he shows nothing but love and concern for them. The bible tells us that in heaven today he is still the same. He is ever ready to draw near to you, meeting your deepest heart’s need and promising to protect you. This pre-Easter Sunday, will you thank him for being so caring and so protective of you.
John 10:28-29 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
