A new year, a new term, a new beginning!
As we put aside the long summer holidays and settle into the New Year, it is time to make a fresh start, not only with our day to day activities, but also our spiritual lives.
It is time to take stock and set the bar higher for our bible reading, prayer, devotional lives and Christian service. If you have not already done so, I would encourage you to set a disciplined bible reading and prayer time for each day. We should be striving to grow deeper in our relationship with God. It is important to grow stronger and deeper in God’s ways and words and this is only achieved by stretching ourselves.
It is also very helpful to join up with a home group, fellowship group. This will give you opportunity to build friendships with other Christians and it will go a long way to enriching your Christian growth and knowledge.
Ask yourself also if there is perhaps some way you can serve God, whether in the church or in the community. We grow when we learn to give, serve and spend ourselves for others.
This year I hope to continue running our ever-popular Sharpening your bible knowledge monthly bible overviews. Plan on attending these seminars as they will lift the curtain of scripture, giving you insight into what the various bible books are all about.
It is good to be reminded that our spiritual growth is our responsibility. Let us together grow this year to be all God wants us to be.
